Woodbine grant delight

A generous grant from ACE Radio owner Geoff Handbury has helped Warracknabeal business Woodbine provide a much better service, according to company CEO Ric Walsh.
Mr Walsh said a $25,000 grant had proven a godsend in providing more and better working conditions for staff members.
“Woodbine identified the need for additional office space as a number of staff were forced to use a meeting room to undertake administrative work because there were no vacant offices, or desks, for them to use,” he said.
“We were successful in obtaining a relocatable building from the Department of Human Services but the problem was the building needed refurbishment and no funding was available from the State or Federal Government.
“That was when I spoke to Geoff and he was only too happy to help.”
Mr Walsh said he was yet again overwhelmed by the generosity of Mr Handbury.
“Geoff has been a great supporter of Woodbine over the years and he contnually amazes with his generosity and willingness to help,” he said.
“He really believes in the work and service we provide at Woodbine and he knows that this grant will make for much better working conditions for staff and therefore will help us provide an even better service.”
Mr Walsh said Woodbine was planning to have a plaque made and presented to Mr Handbury that would then be hung on the relocatable building as a lasting reminder of the philanthropist’s generosity.
