Unbeaten run on the line

BEST CHANCE: after being best on court last week, Horsham Diggers need Clair McDonald to again be at her best if they are going to upstage Warrack Eagles.

Warrack Eagles will put their unbeaten form on the line in the Wimmera Netball Association this weekend when they clash with Horsham Diggers.
And the Eagles will go into the match as raging hot favourites, having produced some outstanding form in the earlier rounds.
They enter the clash after a razor-sharp performance against Minyip Murtoa last week, where they dominated from the outset. They currently sit on top of the ladder.
Horsham Diggers, however, are likely to provide some stiff opposition after a morale-boosting win against arch-rivals Horsham Saints last week.
After a sluggish start to the season where they lost the opening two matches, the Diggers led from the outset of the match and proved too strong for an eight-goal victory.
Diggers coach Sharon Fedke said her team would again need to improve if they were to upstage the Eagles.
“The Eagles have been a very strong side for a couple of years now and we are a very young team that will need to play well for four quarters,” she said.
“I was really pleased with how the girls toughed it out last week in very tough conditions and I think they would have taken a lot from the win.”
Fedke said key Eagle players such as Lucy Morcom, who shot 41 goals last week, and Sarah Koschitzke would prove difficult to stop.
However, with defender Clair McDonald in great form after a best on court performance last week, she was confident the Diggers could push the Eagles all the way.
Minyip Murtoa will attempt to continue their bright start to the season when they clash with a disappointing Stawell outfit.
The Burras have scored two wins from their first three outings for the season and will look to get back on the winners list after falling short of Warrack Eagles last week.
Stawell has yet to score a win from the first three rounds of the season and if they have aspirations of playing finals this season, this match bares important significance.
Courtney Gerdtz and Lucy Pidgeon have been in good form for the Burras in the early part of the season, while Stawell will rely on Jemma Clarkson and Jade Cross to lead the way.
Horsham Saints and Nhill will look to secure positions in the top five when they clash, while in the other match of the round, Horsham come up against Dimboola.
