Eagles face big task

Leigh-Anne Bibby has had a great start to the season and if she fires, Warrack will prove hard to beat against Horsham this weekend.

Warrack Eagles face another daunting task in round seven of the Wimmera Netball Association tomorrow when they come up against a charging Horsham.
After a sluggish start to the season Horsham has become one of the form teams of the competition and will enter the match on the back of a ‘come from behind’ win against Horsham Diggers.
However, they will put their good recent form to the test against one of the competition’s powerhouses.
Other than a loss to ladder-leader Ararat, Warrack has been dangerous this season and comes into the match on the back of a strong 19-goal win against Stawell.
Joint coach Sarah Koschitzke said Horsham prepared a vastly different line-up to that of 2008 and she was expecting a tough hit-out.
“To be honest I don’t know a lot about them but some of their performances this season have been very good,” she said.
“They have a fairly new side with some old faces so I’m certainly not going to take them lightly.”
Koschitzke said she was happy with her team’s form and the overall contribution of all players. She expects if they can all again contribute, they should be too good for Horsham.
“We have some players who have been in great form and the pleasing thing is that all the girls are contributing,” she said.
“Lucy Morcom has been in great form under the ring, Penny Fisher has been playing well in the middle and Leigh-Anne Bibby is in outstanding form.
“If the girls can continue with that form I am confident we will be hard to beat.”
Nhill will attempt to cement a place in the top five when they come up against Stawell.
Stawell has really struggled in the early part of the season and will need all guns blazing to cause an upset against the Tigers.
In other matches for the round, United face the toughest test in Wimmera netball when they clash with powerhouse Ararat and Dimboola will look to continue their steady improvement with an upset win against Horsham Saints.
