Inaugural Green Triangle Stuart Mill Pony Express

Stephen Richards

Dirtbike riders are gearing up for round three of the Green Triangle Enduro Series, the inaugural Stuart Mill Pony Express on September 5.
The event is hosted by the Green Triangle Enduro Club and will take place on 200 acres of private property, meaning no licence or registration is required from 1pm.
The Stuart Mill property, on the Sunraysia Highway between Avoca and St Arnaud, will be transformed into a natural terrain enduro track of undulating, mixed soils taking riders approximately fifteen minutes to complete a lap.
One of the organisers of the event Matt Peacock of St Arnaud encourages all riders to come and have a go at Stuart Mill.
“It will be a great track, suited to riders of all abilities and a great opportunity to take part in what is shaping up to be an awesome event,” he said.
“Some people get put off by the fact that they will be racing against other people but it’s nothing to worry about because we’re all there to have fun.”
Mr Peacock, a keen dirtbike rider himself is looking forward to seeing some new faces at the four hour pony express, where riders will compete as a team of two or on their own in the ironman section.
The race is open to riders 16 years and over who can enter in one of the seven classes – pro, expert, clubman A and B, veterans, novice and a new women’s section.
“We’ve noticed an increase in women riding at other events and thought including a women’s class would encourage more women to come and have a go,” Mr Peacock said.
Riders can enter on the day from 10.30am or enter beforehand through the Green Triangle Enduro Club website
Entry on the day will close at noon, ready for a 1pm start.
For more details check out the club website or call Matt Peacock on 0400 273 360.
