Concerts a big success

RECOGNITION: Trophy winners Kristy Matthews, Sophie Hall, Georgia Boag, rear, Darcy Crawford, Leilanie Pridan and Jaz Warren, front.

The Grampians Calisthenic College has celebrated its 15th year in style with two successful concerts on October 16 and 18.
Crowds at the two concerts were treated to a display of all the college teams’ routines, many of which have won awards at competitions around the state throughout the year.
Mayor Kevin Erwin attended the Sunday concert and congratulated the college’s coaches, students and committee on another successful year and wished them well for years ahead.
The annual college awards were presented at the Friday night concert as follows:
• Ron Aubrey memorial perpetual trophy – Kristy Matthews;
• Joan MacPherson perpetual trophy – Georgia Boag;
• AE amd PI Holden and Sons perpetual trophy – Sophie Hall;
• P & L Rhodes perpetual trophy – Jaz Warren;
• Joan Ryan memorial award – Leilanie Pridan;
• Lyla Guy musical appreciation award – Darcy Crawford;
Five year service bars were presented to Georgia Mussett, Mellinda Greenaway, Jaz Warren, Holly Rickard, Kasey Mornane and Tijani Milosevic and 10 year service bars went to Kim Baker and Demi Tangey.
The college will resume classes in January and is inviting enrolments now for all age groups for 2010. Anyone interested in enrolling their child should contact Colene Matthews on 5358 3461.
