Heritage at Natimuk

Doug Rogers prepares pens for Saturday''s 118th Natimuk Show.

An enthusiast who first showed bantams at Natimuk Show in 1948 expects a record entry in the poultry section of this Saturday’s 118th ‘heritage’ event.
Doug Rogers will return to Natimuk Showground this weekend and is looking forward to pigeons returning for showing scrutiny.
The theme for this year’s Natimuk Show is ‘heritage’ and organisers expect hot competition for lady and gentlemen of the day competitions, sponsored by Westside Tabaret and Fashion and Fancy respectively.
Show secretary Judith Bysouth said entries were rolling into a new show office at the showground.
She said the office would be open from 10am to 5pm all week to receive entries.
“Most sections require entries to be in by 5pm, Wednesday, to allow for judging on Friday. All other pavilion entries are required to be in by 9am on show day,” she said.
Mrs Bysouth said another feature of this year’s show would be a sheep section with terminal sire replacing merino classes.
