Parkes receives accreditation

Graham Parkes

Parks Victoria’s chief ranger for the Grampians, Graham Parkes, is now a level-three incident controller.
Mr Parkes was one of nine DSE staff presented with their accreditation. He also holds accreditation as a level-three planning officer and level-three operations officer.
The new accreditation makes Mr Parkes one of only a few people in the state to hold level-three accreditation for all three key areas of fire management.
“Across DSE we have staff with a great deal of experience and it’s important we continue to enhance our skills,” Mr Parkes said.
“Level-three development, assessment and accreditation provides me with the skills to manage some of our states biggest and most difficult fires.”
Mr Parkes has been with Parks Victoria for 35 years and has been ranger in charge at Grampians National Park for 15 years.
