More than 100 riders and support crew are being invited to take part in a 20th anniversary reunion dinner for Wimmera Health Care Group’s Murray To Moyne cycle relay team next month.
Organisers of the dinner, at Grains Innovation Park in Horsham on April 17, are looking for help to contact relay participants who have moved from the region.
Rider and organising committee member Kerryn Prouse said she was looking forward to reminiscing with former team-mates.
“I’ve been involved with the Woody’s Murray to Moyne cycle relay team for 18 years now and I’ve met some fantastic people along the way,” she said.
“We’ve sent out expressions of interest to many of the people involved over the past 20 years, but we’ve lost touch with some and don’t know how to contact them,” she said.
“If people have had an involvement and haven’t received a letter from us, we want to hear from them as soon as possible so we can fill them in on what’s happening.”
Mrs Prouse said the reunion promised to be a great night out.
“We’ve always had a close-knit team,” she said.
“I’m sure we’ll share lots of stories and lots of laughs. We’ll have photos and other memorabilia on hand too,” she said.
Mrs Prouse said people could forward contact details to Samantha Harris at Wimmera Health Care Group on 5381 9293 or email sam.harris@whcg.org.au so an invitation can be forwarded to them.
The Woody’s Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay is a 24-hour cycle relay from Mildura to Port Fairy covering 520 kilometres.
Last year, 1435 riders represented 150 organisations, raising more than $1.25 million for regional health services.
It is a major fundraising event for Wimmera Health Care Group with the team raising more than $15,000 last year to purchase an inflatable lifting and transferring device for the Horsham campus.
