Tigers challenge

GIFT DELIGHT: Horsham Donor Centre''s Sharyn Cook, left, helps Pimpinio netballer Lana Waldron-Burles through the blood-donation process in Horsham.

Pimpinio footballers and netballers are set for a challenge next year as part of a club commitment to donate blood.
At the start of next season, Pimpinio Football and Netball Club will book out two nights at Horsham blood bank in a challenge to see which side of the club can provide more donors.
Club blood-drive spokesman Lee Schumann said the Tigers needed to provide 44 people to justify booking out the centre.
“It’s all a bit of fun and it will be a good challenge,” he said.
Plans have evolved after 16 club members donated blood in an inaugural community club project last month.
“As a community group we were always asking things of other people so we thought this was one way to give something back,” Lee said.
“We threw up a few ideas but we’ve had a huge interest in the drive. A few people involved had never donated blood before and are keen to do it again and the ladies down at the donor centre are brilliant.”
