Rainbow’s Edward Kruger is set to have greater independence after winning a $1595 lift chair through the pages of The Weekly Advertiser.
Edward, who has lacked mobility for several years and has relied on others to help him get comfortable, won the chair from more than 500 entries in the Action Aids Australia competition.
His sister Desma said the new chair would mean he would no longer need help in many instances to get comfortable.
“He can now be much more relaxed with the ability to adjust the chair to his requirements,” she said.
“He’s absolutely thrilled. It will make life so much easier.”
Another sister, Kaye, entered the competition, which ran for several weeks, on Edward’s behalf.
Aaron Batson from Action Aids Australia delivered the chair to Edward at Rainbow nursing home last week.
