Fire tragedy felt at festival

Patrons at the fifth Horsham Country Music Festival were saddened to learn that the two young children who died in a tragic house fire at Dunkeld on Friday, were the grand children of country music artist Johnny Lovett.
Festival coordinator Lyall Wheaton said that Lovett was well-known in the country music industry and by Horsham country music fans.
Lovett, pictured promoting the festival in Horsham Plaza three years ago, has performed twice before at the festival and has also played twice at Horsham RSL.
Mr Wheaton said that a country music weekend on a Koroit property next month would raise money for the family.
He said the fundraiser would be at Alby Martin’s Officer Lane property from April 20-22.
People requiring further information should contact Mr Wheaton on 5381 1995.
