Ambulance Vehicle Numbers Adequate

Ambulance Victoria maintains there are enough ambulance vehicles in the Wimmera Mallee to provide adequate services.

The claim comes after a report showed response times in the region can stretch to up to 45 minutes.

Ambulance Victoria’s Acting Group Manager of Northern Mallee Dale Richards says it would be difficult to improve on response times when lots of residents live in remote areas.

“If all the cases were within the township, the response times might be a few minutes, but ambulances might be travelling up to 100km from their point of origin,” he said.

“I think it would be difficult to improve upon the average at the moment.”
