Foundation and festival combine for bike ride

Blue Ribbon Foundation’s Horsham Branch has organised a Family Fun Ride in conjunction with Horsham’s Art Is…festival.
The ride, this Sunday, will include a circuit along the Wimmera River as part of the festival ‘by the water’s edge’ theme and run in conjunction with a festival family day.
Branch president Graeme Arthur said the Family Fun Ride aimed to promote bicycle safety and getting families active while raising money for the foundation.
He said the ride was open to everyone, but children under 16 had to be accompanied by an adult.
“The ride will start at Horsham Angling Club rooms at Sawyer Park, with riders travelling along Barnes Boulevard before turning onto the Wimmera River cycle track at the intersection of Drummond Street and heading back to Sawyer Park,” Mr Arthur said.
“When families get back from the ride they can enjoy some music at Sawyer Park, take part in art-making workshops and watch a women’s circus performance.”
Ride participants can register at a cost is $5 with all money going to Wimmera Base Hospital Emergency Department.
Registrations open at 10am and the ride will be a staggered start from 10.30am.
