Southern footy back in action
Mininera and District Football League action will resume this weekend with teams set to jostle for position in a run home to the finals.
After a break for the Queen’s Birthday long weekend Glenthompson-Dunkeld, Moyston-Willaura, SMW Rovers and Hawkesdale-Macarthur remain gripped in an arm-wrestle for a crucial third spot and ultimately a finals double chance.
This weekend fourth-placed Glenthompson-Dunkeld takes on competition leader Tatyoon while fifth team SMW Rovers will chase points and percentage against Woorndoo-Mortlake.
Moyston-Willaura, a game clear in third spot, starts favourite to beat Lismore-Derrinallum and sixth-placed Hawkesdale-Macarthur has a chance to gather momentum with victory over Wickliffe-Lake Bolac.
