An entrepreneur who with her husband Jason shifted from Melbourne to Warracknabeal to establish a successful online enterprise business has spoken of the benefits of winning a regional business award.
Jennifer Keys, Websites for Small Business partner, told a gathering at the launch of the Powercor Wimmera Business Awards 2012 this week that the 2010 win had provided ‘an incredible boost’.
“Winning the award for best new business changed our business forever,” she said.
“It opened doors for us. It opened big doors, doors we never knew were possible and doors we never knew existed.”
Local government, regional development and business leaders gathered for the breakfast opening at Wesley Performing Arts Centre in Horsham.
Ms Keys said winning the award provided the couple’s business with an unexpected point of difference between it and other similar businesses.
“That change was not only from a business perspective but also as business owners. Our confidence magnified,” she said.
