Picture books to promote nature

NATURE’S ALLIES: Warracknabeal’s Jeanie Clark with her books that inspired the ‘Read4Nature – Science in our Picture Books’ idea. Picture: CONTRIBUTED

Warracknabeal environmental educator Jeanie Clark’s love for nature-themed illustrated books has led to a Federal Grant and a partnership with the Wimmera Regional Library Corporation.
‘Love2Read? Find Science in books, share it! Inspiring Australia @ your library’ is one of 63 Unlocking Australia’s Potential science communication grants announced by Science and Research Minister Senator Chris Evans.
The grant means the program will be available free of charge to the Wimmera community through the library corporation branches.
Ms Clark said ‘Read4Nature’ was intended for grandparents, parents, caregivers of children and other interested people at participating branch libraries.
