Ambassador Kate wins state title

Horsham Show young leader of the year Kate Cross has gone on to state success, being named Victoria’s Rural Ambassador at the Royal Melbourne Show.
Kate, 20, an agronomy student at Longerenong College, outshone seven other canidates from across the state to take the title.
Her journey started with the Horsham Show young leader competition last year, leading to a regional event at St Arnaud, then state success in Melbourne.
Kate said she would put her $8000 prizemoney towards her dream to start a Limousin beef stud and also plans to start a youth group at Longerenong.
Kate is part of a 12-member  Longerenong College steers team competing at the Royal Melbourne Show. She is also involved in running Horsham and Natimuk shows.
