Rural Summit set to give Hindmarsh Shire a $150,000 boost

Hindmarsh Shire Council is a expecting a $150,000 boost when Nhill hosts Rural Councils Victoria’s Rural Summit in 2014.
RCV chair Cr Ken Gale announced Nhill as the chosen venue after interviewing four short-listed councils.
The Rural Summit is a two-day conference for councillors, CEOs, leaders of business, industry and economic and community development practitioners to share knowledge, ideas and experience on a broad range of issues.
Cr Gale made the announcement at last week’s RCV Mayors, Councillors and CEOs Forum in Melbourne.
“Every year the competition to be the host council is strong. RCV asks the councils to address a range of factors including capacity building, the ability to host 200 people and the relevance of suggested programs to RCV’s objectives,” he said.
“The Hindmarsh Shire application did this very well and boasts some unique attractions and recent experience which all other councils can learn from.”
