Final chance to ‘make a splash’

Entries from across western Victoria are flowing into Wimmera Catchment Management Authority’s ‘Make a Splash’ competition.
The CMA has more than 100 entries for the competition that is part of a community engagement phase of the Wimmera Waterway Strategy, a new plan for the region’s rivers, wetlands and streams.
Entries close at 5pm next Monday and people can enter online at or at the CMA’s Horsham office in Darlot Street.
The Weekly Advertiser editor Dean Lawson, Wimmera CMA board chairperson Karen Douglas and Wimmera Mail-Times acting editor Carly Werner will judge entries next Wednesday. First prize is a $500 water pack.
Judges will be looking for the most original and creative entry that captures the essence of water in the Wimmera. People can also submit a photograph with their entry.
Mr Lawson said the region’s lakes and rivers had provided everything from a playground to somewhere to cherish.
