Time to move on

SIR,- I hope Federal Labor can now put the malicious rumour-mongering aside now that it has unanimously re-elected Julia Gillard as PM and move on to governing the country as a united party.
The alternative government lead by Abbott is too scary a thought. He will lead us back to the pre-history days with his promise to scrap the carbon tax. Workers will be worse off, especially those on the basic wage as penalty rates are scrapped, disability pensioners will again be the losers because the good work by the Labor Government to increase their payments will be overturned, and our technology improvements with the NBN will be scrapped – not for cost reasons but ideological reasons alone.
We can only hope that the broader Australian electorate considers how much damage will be caused by an Abbott tea-party government.
After watching NSW, Victoria and Queensland since coalition governments have been in power and the massive job losses which have occurred, ask yourself this one question: can my household budget extend to higher interest rates, potentially thousands of job losses and the uncertainty that a coalition government will bring to industrial relations?
