Vandals receive warning

Police have warned vandals continually damaging a recreation vehicle waste-dump site at Dimboola that they face charges if caught.

Sergeant Ken McLean said vandals could also expect to pay for repairs.

“Police intend to keep an eye on the area,” he said.

Hindmarsh Shire Council chief executive Tony Doyle urged people to think about their actions before dropping rocks into the dump point.

Mr Doyle said contractors had to clear the Wimmera Street dump point of rocks on more than six occasions. Rocks dropped into the dump point had blocked pipes causing waste to build up and leaving the dump point unusable and inconveniencing travellers.
