Community call out for Anzac year memorabilia

A planning group working on projects to commemorate Horsham district involvement in the First World War has asked for community help.

A working group is researching information for a First World War book and an eight-week exhibition at Horsham Regional Art Gallery.

It has asked families gathering at Christmas to consider what information or memorabilia they might have to contribute to the projects.

The working group will advertise for submissions in the New Year.

Earlier this year, the Horsham and District World War One Commemoration Working Group formed to consider ideas for 2014’s 100-year Anzac Centenary.

Group convenor Fiona Carine said the aim was to ensure Horsham district could enjoy a coordinated program of commemorative events by keeping communication channels open and without wasting volunteer time and effort and resources.
