Deputy Premier Peter Ryan used a whirlwind visit to the region yesterday to announce major funding commitments in Ararat and Stawell.

Mr Ryan announced that a Coalition Government, if re-elected at the November state election, would provide $2.5-million for Ararat Rural City Council to provide an Ararat Active program.

Ararat Active was born from Ararat’s involvement in the Biggest Loser television program and focuses on making Ararat a more active, healthier and stronger community.
