Nhill to host annual Boxing Day races

Race-goers will flock to Nhill on Boxing Day for the town’s annual race meeting.
About 1500 people attend the Jim’s Butchery Nhill Cup meeting each year, lured by a festive atmosphere and family-friendly activities.
Mt Gambier trainer Michael O’Leary will chase his third consecutive Nhill Cup, nominating Welcome Ned for the 1650-metre, $20,000 feature. The six-year-old gelding is coming off a second placing in the 2000-metre Bordertown Cup on December 13, which was won by Sue Turner-trained Sandhill Chief – also nominated for the Nhill feature.
