Yarra Ranges makes the trip to Ballarat on Saturday to do battle with Western Phantoms across all divisions.
The Phantoms’ premier men will fancy their chances against a team that has been decimated by player departures and are a shadow of the team that has been one of the strongest in this grade for many years.
In saying that, the young Yarra team has scored two wins for the season and sits third on the ladder, so the Phantoms will need to play at their best to win.
A first-versus-sixth battle looms in reserves men. The Phantoms are on top with two wins from as many starts, while Yarra has two wins from four matches.
The division two men have a winnable game, with their opposition winless after three matches.
In women’s matches, the reserves will look to move up the ladder when they face a young Yarra team that sits in sixth place, with two wins from three matches.
The Phantoms will be confident of doing well after accounting for Yarra at a Warrnambool tournament last month, with most players better for the run against Victoria University a fortnight ago.
