Ma Jones continues form at Bendigo

Darren Weir-trained and Marnoo-owned Ma Jones continued her good form, saluting at Bendigo on Sunday.
The chestnut mare lined up in the Bendigo Sportsman’s Handicap over 1400 metres, with gun rider Harry Coffey in the saddle.
Ma Jones began well from her outside barrier, but was soon snagged back in the field to get an easier run.
The daughter of Bianconi travelled sweetly for Coffey.
Ma Jones peeled to the outside on the swing for home, looming ominously. Once balanced in the straight, the five-year-old let down with a strong run.
Ma Jones showed a good deal of tenacity, dashing away to score by more than one-and-a-half lengths. The win was number four in a nine-start career, for earnings of $71,650.
Yendall comes through
Horsham jockey Dean Yendall booted home a Group three winner at Morphettville on Saturday, despite injuring his ribs in an incident at Ararat the day prior.
Yendall was aboard 2015 Donald Cup winner Tonopah, for Darren Weir, in the RA Lee Stakes over 1600-metres.
Yendall gave the American-bred gelding a great ride, box seating behind the leaders, in a moderately run affair.
