Horsham Arts Council’s Annie rehearsals in full swing
By SARAH SCULLY
The cast of Horsham Arts Council’s latest production is busy applying final touches in the lead-up to next month’s performances.
The council will present classic family musical ‘Annie’ in Horsham Town Hall from May 12 to 21.
Council president Simon Dandy said everything was coming together well.
He likened the lead-up to the event to a sporting pre-season, complete with peaks and troughs.
“With less than four weeks until opening night the excitement is starting to build again,” he said.
“Like pre-season, the focus at the moment is on making everyone ‘better’.
“The show is all there and now we’re refining it.
“We’re 80 percent done, but we’re working extensively on that last 20 percent to make it as good as we can.”
Mr Dandy said about 130 people were involved in the production.
“We have about 64 people on stage, and then you’ve got the orchestra, back stage and front-of-house crew,” he said.
“The costumes and sets are a big job and are close to completion.”
Mr Dandy said ticket sales were going well. “Annie is a pretty popular family show,” he said.
“I would encourage people to get in early so they don’t miss out.” Annie opens on Friday, May 12 at 7.30pm.
