Ararat Rural City Council’s corporate strategy, risk and governance director Colleen White will be promoted on Saturday.

Colleen White will take over as interim Ararat Rural City Council chief executive on Saturday.
Ms White, the council’s corporate strategy, risk and governance director, moves into the role following the retirement of Andrew Evans.
She will remain in the interim role until August 20.
Following August 20, the council will appoint an interim chief executive until Mr Evans’ permanent successor is selected.
The council is still finalising its recruitment timeframe.
Ms White’s appointment as interim chief executive allows time for a commission of inquiry to carry out its investigation of the council’s controversial rating strategy.
It will also allow Local Government Minister Natalie Hutchins to deliver recommendations before the recruitment process for a permanent chief executive starts.
