Wimmera girls to play on MCG

A Ballarat Grammar girls football team featuring seven Wimmera players has won its way through to its fourth consecutive Herald-Sun Shield Grand Final.
The team will play Melbourne Girls Grammar in the final on Sunday as a curtain raiser to an Adelaide-Collingwood game at the MCG.
Wimmera girls Jordy Bone, Nhill, Faith McKenzie, Haven, Olivia Jorgensen, Dimboola, Ella Bibby, Warracknabeal, Emma Downes, Donald, Nina Denham and Anna Laursen Habel, Boolite, have played pivotal roles in the Ballarat Grammar team this season, with McKenzie and Bibby named in Grammar’s best players in the semi-final. Alice Astbury from Tatyoon is also in the team.
Ballarat Grammar coach Matt Hanlon said it was amazing that the girls had the opportunity to play on the MCG.
“I think it will be a massive challenge for both sides with all that space,” he said.
The game will start at at 12.45pm on Sunday.
