People who have long had a desire to learn how to pilot an aircraft have an opportunity to gain insight into what is required at a Horsham Aero Club come-and-try day on October 22.
The club, in partnership with flying school
Airwego, has organised the Sunday event at Horsham aerodrome in an effort to promote flying and build club numbers.
Club vice-president and Airwego senior instructor Tony Brand said the come-and-try day applied to most age groups.
“We’re urging people to make the most of an opportunity to come and see if they would to like take it up,” he said.
“It’s for anyone 15 years and older, perhaps younger people who might like to consider a career in the airline industry, but it is also for people who would like to simply learn how to fly.
“And, like many clubs, we’re struggling for numbers and are keen for more people to be involved.”
The cost for a person to go up for a trial introductory flight is $50. There will also be a barbecue lunch provided free of charge.
