Young Hornets start season

Horsham Hornets junior representative basketball squads will start their road-trip season at the weekend when they travel to Swan Hill and Warrnambool.
Horsham Amateur Basketball Association has entered under-14 and under-16 girls teams and an under-16 boys team for competition in Swan Hill. Its under-12, under-14 and under-14 boys Horsham Blue development team will play in a Seaside Classic tournament in Warrnambool.
Association junior representative director Tony Sleep said it was great to have teams finally heading off to start what would be another exciting year of Hornets basketball.
“We have had record try-out numbers and for the first time have been able to field multiple under-14 boys teams,” he said.
“Along with two teams in under-12 boys and girls, our numbers at representative level look really solid.”
