pc Ararat City 061216

Bill Braithwaite will replace Paul Hooper on Ararat Rural City Council.
Mr Hooper resigned from the council last month following the mayoral election of Cr Glenda McLean.
Councillor-elect Braithwaite told the Victorian Electoral Commission this morning he would accept the position.
The position was determined by a countback of preferences from the vacating councillor’s votes in the 2016 Ararat Rural City Council election.
Chief executive Allan Bawden welcomed Mr Braithwaite as the successful council nominee.
“We are excited to have Bill join council to represent the community and our six other councillors are looking forward to working alongside them,” he said.
Mr Braithwaite will sign his official declaration at Ararat Grampians Visitor Information Centre tomorrow at 9am.
