East Grampians Health Service Murray to Moyne Cycle Relay teams are kicking off their fundraising by hosting a December Ararat Trash and Treasure Market on Sunday.
The market will be at Ararat’s Alexandra Hall from 9am to 1pm. The Murray to Moyne teams will offer a barbecue and cake stall.
The ‘Cranks’ and ‘Defibrillators’ will raise money for new outdoor play equipment for the health group’s Ark Toy and Activity Library.
This year the teams’ goal is to raise $15,000.
The Ark Toy and Activity Library has been operating for more than 30 years, offering a borrowing service of toys, games and puzzles for children with special needs. In recent years it has extended the service to people in aged care and mums and babies groups.
Next year the toy library will relocate to the East Grampians Health Service’s Community Health Centre, which is undergoing extensive redevelopment.
