2018 MIXX FM, 3WM and The Weekly Advertiser Wimmera Business Awards finalists announced

Paw Po in Nhill has been nominated for the 2018 MIXX FM, 3WM and The Weekly Advertiser Wimmera Business Awards.

Paw Po Products in Nhill has been nominated for the 2018 MIXX FM, 3WM and The Weekly Advertiser Wimmera Business Awards.

Judges have announced 45 finalists for the 2018 MIXX FM, 3WM and The Weekly Advertiser Wimmera Business Awards after assessing more than 70 applications from across the region.
They have pruned back the field after assessing businesses from Hindmarsh, Horsham, Northern Grampians, West Wimmera and Yarriambiack municipalities.
Officials will announce winners at a black tie gala awards presentation night at Wimmera Events Centre at Longerenong on October 12.
Wimmera Development Association project officer and awards organiser Bonnie Severin said judges struggled to narrow down category winners.
She said the standard of applications was high and several judges commented that they were impressed with the range of products and services in the region and dedication and commitment of business operators.
“As in previous years, 15 judges with diverse business experiences volunteered their time to visit every applicant and see what their business had to offer,” she said.
Ms Severin said record entries in a Best New Business category demonstrated the drive and enthusiasm of the community to provide new services and opportunities for the region in all industry sectors.
As part of the awards process, all finalists are now recording videos to be played to the expected 350 guests who attend the gala evening and to use as a business promotional tool after the event.
“This year there will also be a new category called The People’s Choice Award,” Ms Severin said.
“Finalists from each business category will be put into the draw and will be voted on by their customers. People can vote on website www.mixx1013.com.au.
Wimmera Development Association runs the 2018 MIXX FM, 3WM and The Weekly Advertiser Wimmera Business Awards every two years to promote regional business excellence and showcase the diversity of businesses across the Wimmera and southern Mallee.
Tickets for the awards are available online at wda.org.au.
