Ararat’s East Grampians Health Service board has appointed Andrew Freeman its new chief executive.
Board chairwoman Nancy Panter said the board chose Mr Freeman, who has been interim chief executive for nearly four years, after an extensive selection process.
“Mr Freeman brings more than 13 years’ experience in executive leadership roles in rural health,” she said.
“He is an effective leader who is deeply committed to improving health outcomes for rural communities.”
Mr Freeman said he looked forward to working with the health service on major projects, including East Grampians community health centre’s multi-million dollar redevelopment.
“It’s an exciting time with the community health centre redevelopment underway and planning for the $2.9-million theatre redevelopment, which is about to start,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to build on the great work that is already being done at EGHS.”
