Wimmera councillors to elect leaders – Mark Radford set to lead Horsham

Councillor Mark Radford is likely to swear in as Horsham Rural City Council’s new mayor at a statutory meeting tomorrow night.
Cr Radford became the mayor-elect after winning a preliminary and informal ballot on Monday night but needs formal ratification at the statutory meeting.
The Horsham council has, for several decades selected its mayor through the ballot process before a ceremonial sign-off in open council.
Cr Pam Clarke will formally remain mayor until the statutory vote.
Cr Radford, 60, was last mayor in 2014-15 and based on protocol, determined by the council on Monday night, was unavailable for comment until after the statutory meeting.
West Wimmera Shire Council will vote in a mayor at a statutory meeting this morning.
The meeting will be in the council chamber at the Kaniva office at 9am.
Hindmarsh residents will also learn of their mayor for the coming year following a meeting at Nhill Memorial Community Centre at 6pm.
Northern Grampians councillors will vote on a mayor for the coming year at a statutory meeting on Monday night. The meeting will be in the council chambers in the Pleasant Creek Historical District on the Western Highway at 6pm.
Yarriambiack Shire will also elect its council leader for the next 12 months at a statutory meeting at its Warracknabeal council chambers on Wednesday, November 28, at 9am.
