A new women’s clothing boutique designed to fit neatly into the Wimmera’s fashion market will open in Horsham shopping centre on Saturday morning.

Ellery and Black, the brainchild of long-time friends Stacey Taig and Jody Taberner, will target a market ‘gap’ to enhance the clothing range available to Wimmera women.

Stacey Taig, with a background in business development, management and marketing, said Ellery and Black was about enhancing the Wimmera market.

“There are already great fashion stores in Horsham and we’ve been careful to make sure we have our own niche. With what brands we will bring to the region we’re confident we will fit in the ‘in-between’ age group and market,” she said.

Jody Taberner, who has an extensive retail and design background, said the business would encourage Wimmera women to shop ‘locally’.

“We’re not about jeans and t-shirts but we’re not about ankle-length frocks either. We’re about providing quality up-market clothing,” she said.

The pair said the shop would include new labels such as Vallen, Mint, Seduce, Katherine and LIFEwithBIRD. Products from Australian contemporary designer Ruby Smallbone products would be at the top end of the range.

A new label line created by the head designer for Top Shot would arrive in October and classical Ruby Valentine and retro Lemonade on the Lawn were other design labels for shoppers to consider.

Ellery and Black will also develop its own in-store label for a broad range of tastes and budgets.

Ms Taig and Ms Taberner will have a private business launch for family and friends on Friday night before opening the doors to the public at 9am, Saturday.

Ms Taig: “We’ve always wanting to be in business and for us that means giving it our best and going out of way to please customers and to work with the fashion-business community of Horsham.”

Ms Taberner: “We want to help create a fashion dynamic, a fashion hub for the Wimmera.”

Apart from a presence in Roberts Avenue, the shop will provide online services at www.elleryandblack.com.au within the next month.

People seeking more information can email sales@elleryandblack.com.au or call Stacey on 0419 360 720 or Jody, 0417 551 182.
