Local creative director and Horsham business owner Meg Coutts is taking on the role of Art Is.. Festival manager for the 2010 Art Is... Elemental festival in Horsham.
“I’ve had a long association with Art Is... over the years – as a committee member, participating artist and a long term sponsor,” Meg said.
“The opportunity presented itself at a time where managing my graphic design business, Phunkemedia, could take less of my time, allowing me to assist this important community event, in a committed and productive way.”
Meg said that having just returned from getting married on Hamilton Island, she has found herself getting straight to business and has some large shoes to fill from her past admired festival directors.
“I look forward to the challenge of further developing the already strong organisation and working with local volunteers to create the next exhilarating experience for the community,” Meg said.
“Elemental is a fantastic theme to work with and offers artists a great opportunity to centre their work on something as ‘grass roots’ or ‘chemical set’ as they like.
“It’s going to be quite spectacular to see what diverse and creative responses we have for the 2010 festival.”
Not only is the theme great for participating artists but also presents an exciting opportunity for a broad range of logo enthusiasts.
Submissions are now being sought for the 2010 logo competition, with all details available from the Art Is... website at www.artis.wimmera.com.au.
Submit your concepts by 5pm on October 23 for the chance to take home $300 for your efforts.
