If it’s true that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, then visitors to Horsham Plaza next week will indeed be a healthy bunch of shoppers.

Students from Horsham and St Brigid’s colleges will be handing out the pomaceous fruit to visitors to the shopping centre as part of Horsham Plaza Health Week.

The year-nine girls will also be offering free hand-massages to shoppers feeling the effects of a hard day’s retail therapy.

Wimmera Health Care Group community health nurse Wally Coleman has been working with the students on a range of healthy subjects.

“The girls will be in the plaza each day of health week to chat with shoppers, handing out apples and offering free hand massages,” she said.

“It will be great to see as many people as possible coming down to take advantage of everything on offer during Horsham Plaza Health Week.”

Horsham College principal Frank Spiel gave the hand-massages the ‘thumbs up’ after receiving a preview treatment this week.
