The Ararat Outdoor Pool reopened today as the easing COVID-19 restrictions allow for an early start to the summer season.
The pool will be opened on any day where the weather is safe for swimming from 6-9am and 3.30-7.30pm weekdays and 1-7pm weekends and public holidays.
Council chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said while the pool would be a little chilly, it would be nothing to those who are eager to get back into swimming.
“As the weather warms up, we will be able to extend these hours and welcome more people back.”
Casual passes can be purchased with cash at the pool and cost $4 for Adults, $3 for children and $11 for a family. Season passes can be purchased from the Ararat Rural City Council Offices and cost $90 for an adult, $60 for children and $100 for a family.
“Season passes this year are a great bargain, as we are opening a month and half earlier than usual. Giving people 30 percent more time at the pool for the same price as last season,” Dr Harrison said. “While we wait for the ability to safely open all our indoor facilities, the community can get into an early summer.”
