20 good reasons

The MIXX FM Horsham Twenty20 cricket competition returns this weekend for a second season and players Chris Hopper, left, and Sandy Hodge can’t wait to put on a show for fans of the rock ‘n’ roll format of the sport. Chris will line-up for Cec Hopper and Sons Sparks against Gatorade Bolts in the competition opener at Horsham’s Sunnyside Oval this Sunday from 9.30am. Sandy is representing one of the competition’s new teams, the Imparja Indigenous team. He said the side, which takes on fellow newcomer Sport First Sloggers at Sunnyside from 12.10pm, had some exciting talent. “We’ll have representatives from right across Victoria including our captain Alex Kerr from North Melbourne, John Green from North Heidelberg, Fletcher Stewart from Fitzroy-Doncaster, a couple of Mildura and Hamilton players and local stars like the Cooke-Harrison boys. I think we’ll have a pretty handy side and hope to give it a good shot,” Sandy said.
