$100k payday for Ararat retiree

An Ararat man is looking forward to relaxing into his retirement after scoring a $100,000 payday in yesterdays Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.
The man won the guaranteed first prize of $100,000 after purchasing his ticket at Ararat's Harris Newsagency.

He said he didn't have any plans for the win, but being retired it would help take 'a bit of the pressure off'.

The man was overwhelmed with the win saying he had only being playing Wednesday lotto for five weeks and was shocked to have won after such a short time.

The winning entry of two random numbers was purchased at Harris Newsagency in Barkly Street with team member Karen Billet saying she was 'stoked' to know she had sold a first prize ticket to one of her customers.

“Oh, how wonderful,” she said. "I’m stoked because I’m sure it was me who sold the winning ticket to the customer."
"Congratulations to the winner! Well done. We’re so happy for him and wish him the best with his prize."
