Noradjuha-Quantong has given itself an outside chance of claiming the Horsham District A Grade netball minor premiership after a stunning 10-goal win against Edenhope-Apsley at the weekend.

The two teams had appeared as evenly matched as possible entering round 15, separated by only one win and having drawn their previous encounter in round four.

But the Bombers got an early jump on the Saints, leading by six goals at quarter time and 10 by the main break.

While Edenhope-Apsley attempted to mount a second-half comeback – outscoring the Bombers 12-8 in the third quarter to trim the deficit – they left themselves too much to do in an eventual 40-30 loss.

Noradjuha-Quantong boasts the second-best scoring defence in the league, and showed why at the weekend as Leah Mirtschin and Rachel Leader contained the high-scoring Saints duo of Dee Dee Lambert and coach Lavinia Fox.

At the other end of the court Danielle Grindlay and Olivia Spence each spent a half playing on Bomber goalie Shannon Couch, but struggled to find an answer for Couch’s height under the ring.

The win all but confirmed a top-two finish for the Bombers, who remain a mathematical chance to claim top spot in the seemingly unlikely event of a Laharum loss in its last two games.

The Demons overcame a spirited Kaniva-Leeor United after trailing by four goals at quarter time on Saturday, going on to win 57-46.

Young goalie Ilze Van Zyl was back to her best with 32 scores, getting on the end of well-placed passes from Maddie Iredell at wing attack.

Midcourters Jasmine Talbot and Lauren Brown played hard for the Cougars, but could not prevent their side from falling out of the top five with the loss.

Taking their place was Pimpinio, which boosted its percentage with a 62-33 win against Taylors Lake, led by goalies Tahlia Thompson and Mikayla Dumesny.

Less than two percentage points behind the Tigers is Natimuk United, which had a big win of its own against Swifts.

Stacey Hopwood, 43 goals, and Emma Uebergang, 27, were unstoppable in the 74-35 win.

Kalkee all but cemented a finals place at Rupanyup Recreation Reserve, defeating the home side 67-26.

Emily Polack was rock-solid in defence for the Kees, with Abbey Williams playing a strong game at wing defence.

Kalkee’s next opponent will be a Kaniva-Leeor United side desperate to reclaim its place in the top five, headlining a round of important clashes.

Natimuk United and Harrow-Balmoral’s finals hopes will both be on the line when they meet at Natimuk Showgrounds, with the loser almost certain to miss post-season action.

Edenhope-Apsley will look to rebound in a home game against Swifts, while Taylors Lake will host Rupanyup with both teams looking to add to their solitary wins for 2026.
