Several junior cricketers from the Wimmera-Grampians region have won selection in Western Waves representative teams for the upcoming Cricket Victoria Youth Premier League season.

The Waves announced their under-16 and under-14 boys, and under-17 and under-14 girls squads last week, with players from the region included in each of the teams.

Grampians Cricket Club’s Vincent Huf, Josh Gordon and Zac Burgess, Rupanyup-Minyip’s Bailey Young and Homers’ Jett Hopper have been picked for the under-16 boys team.

The under-14 boys team features Homers’ Joey Nagorcka and Abhilasha Rodrogo, and Rupanyup-Minyip’s Connor Weidemann.

Grampians’ Ella Jackson and Homers’ Georgia Baker-Miller will represent the region in the girls under-14 team, while West Wimmera’s Ruby James is in the under-17 team.

Youth Premier League matches will begin next month.
