Kelly Miller shines on world stage

Horsham triathlete Kelly Miller achieved one of the biggest results of her career with a top-10 finish at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii at the weekend.

Miller placed sixth in the women’s 40-44 age group, finishing the triathlon event in 10 hours, 28 minutes and seven seconds.

Miller was in 17th place after taking 1:09 hours to complete the roughly 3.9-kilometre swim, but made up for it with excellent times in both the 180-kilometre ride and 42-kilometre run sections.

Miller finished less than five minutes behind second-placed Nicole Gaillard, but division winner Georgina Gadient won easily with a time of 10:01.14.
