A ‘road’ adventure

Last week two women took me on a ‘road’ trip.

I was taken from the nursing home to a hospital in the greater Wimmera region in an ambulance. I was to have some pictures taken.

The ‘road’ was so rough the driver travelled at about 30kmh below the legal limit so as not to damage the cargo.

There were two bumps that almost launched me into orbit.

There were two extra bumps that day – one in the ambulance roof and one on my head.

The rough ‘road’ also caused a door on the ambulance to open.

The driver had to stop on the side of the road to close the door. Because of the reduced speed and the door closing, I arrived almost half an hour late for my appointment.

On the return trip the driver took a more circuitous route.

Even though the ‘road’ was less rough, the ambulance door still opened.

I believe the State Government has painted bush tracks black to fool people into believing they are ‘roads’.

Bush tracks in the Northern Territory are smoother than Victorian ‘roads’.
