Man charged with drug trafficking at Stawell

Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after locating what is alleged to be a traffickable quantity of methylamphetamine worth $4.5-million in Stawell yesterday.

Police from Stawell  intercepted a Honda HRV on Horsham Road about 2.20am on February 11.

They searched the car and found two phones, cash, and what is alleged to be methylamphetamine.

The driver, a 20-year-old Keilor Downs man, was arrested at the scene.

He has since been charged by detectives with traffic large commercial quantity of methylamphetamine and was remanded in custody to appear before the Horsham Magistrates’ Court today.
