Milestone for District Dance Studio

District Dance Studio will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a concert at St Arnaud Town Hall on Saturday.

The Northern Grampians Shire studio, which offers dance and performing arts students classes in St Arnaud, Donald, Stawell and soon Horsham, is marking the milestone with a special performance from 6pm.

Owner and principal teacher Linda Grigg, who created the studio in 1989, said 30 years had seen many highlights for the studio.

She said this included dance tours to the USA in 2014 and 2018 where students performed at Disneyland, Universal Studios and on Hollywood Boulevard.

“Students have also had the opportunity to dance in the annual Victorian State School Spectacular, attend masterclasses with renowned teachers including Jason Coleman – choreographer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games – and train as assistant dance teachers using Dance Steps materials,” she said.

Among accomplishments is also the studio’s Ready Set Dance Regional Studio of the Year award, won at a national conference this year.

Ms Grigg said a Ready Set Dance pop-up store selling merchandise would be open during the studio’s Saturday performance, and enrolments would soon open for pre-school classes in St Arnaud, Stawell and Horsham for 2020.

People can buy tickets for the 30th anniversary performance at www.trybooking.com/BHAMK or at the door on the night. Adult tickets are $25, and children’s tickets are $15.
