HAPPY TO BE BACK: Hugh, 9, and Luke, 12, Miller are among students who have returned to face-to-face learning today as part of an easing of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions across the state.

As well as schools opening, people no longer need to stay at home or stay within a five-kilometre travel limit and movement between metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria is unrestricted.

People must wear face coverings indoors and outdoors unless at home, and private gatherings in a home, apart from intimate partners or single bubbles, are banned. Public gatherings are permitted for up to 10 people and restrictions on ceremonies, religious gatherings, funerals and weddings while easing, still apply.

Physical recreation and sport can occur with patron caps and under specific guidelines and community sport, including competition and training, is open for all ages without spectators.

Various facilities can open with a density quotient of one person per four square metres with maximum indoor limits, most of which are 100 people indoors and 300 outdoors, with groups limited to 10.

All retail, health and beauty and hospitality businesses can open, again with limits and rules, and accommodation businesses can open but bookings are only for single households, intimate partners or single bubbles.

Care facilities and hospitals are open, based on a list of specific reasons, for visitors. Fore more, see page 11 or visit theweeklyadvertiser.com.au for a full list of restrictions. Picture: PAUL CARRACHER
