Wimmera young guns Sacha McDonald and Maggie Caris are among 24 players named in a Netball Australia squad for the 2021 Netball World Youth Cup in Fiji.
Both players were picked for a Netball Australia Centre of Excellence program this year based on their performances at National Netball Championships.
McDonald was picked for the Victorian 19-and-under team while Caris represented her state in a 17-and-under side.
McDonald was recently awarded with a Netball Coaches’ Award at a Victorian Institute of Sport presentation night for a breakout 2019 season.

She captained the Australian Netball League team Victorian Fury to a premiership and made her debut for Super Netball side Melbourne Vixens in a pre-season game.
The duo will join three other Victorians in the 24-player national squad, which will have its first meeting at Canberra’s Australian Institute of Sport on February 14.
Australia has won the Netball World Youth Cup four times in 1988, 1996, 2000 and 2009.
